Diolch i grant gan Lywodraeth Cymru, rydym wedi dechrau’r Prosiect Goleuo. Mae’r prosiect yn darparu goleuadau newydd mawr eu hangen ar gyfer ein Darlithfa a’n Horiel Hanes. Bydd ein trydanwyr yn gweithio ar yr ystafelloedd un ar y tro i leihau aflonyddwch.
Caiff y dudalen hon ei diweddaru wrth i’r prosiect ddatblygu, felly dewch nôl i gael cip ar y datblygiadau diweddaraf.
Mae ein Darlithfa ar gau ar hyn o bryd
Diwrnod 1 – Trydanwyr yn cyrraedd yn gynnar
Diwrnod 2 – Gosod tŵr sgaffaldiau
Diwrnod 3 – Trydanwyr ar y tŵr sgaffaldiau’n cychwyn y pelydryn synhwyro mwg. Rhaid i bobl adael yr amgueddfa … ddwywaith. (Ymddiheuriadau ymwelwyr)
Diwrnod 4 – Mae’r goleuadau newydd yn edrych yn dda, dim larymau tân (diolch byth)
Diwrnod 5 – Cynnydd cyffrous, byddaf yn postio lluniau’r wythnos nesaf.
Day 6 – Here’s a picture of the new lights going into the Lecture Theatre:

Day 7 – To avoid another unplanned fire drill, we had to isolate the fire alarm while the work at height was being done. The beeping fire panel nearly drove the staff insane. Ear defenders have been purchased.
Day 8 – Drilling in the Lecture Theatre is triggering the sensors on the dorgards of the History Gallery. Our front of house staff are getting a real workout climbing the stairs to re-open them.
Day 9 – The lights are working! oooh, it looks bright.
Day 10 – Temporary light switch in (it is a big square button)
Day 11 – Final wiring before the electricians move onto the History Gallery.
Lecture Theatre lighting just about done, just height adjustments and light programming (yes, they are that fancy) to be done. Wish I would have taken a ‘before’ picture now!

We are back after half term! Thank you for everyone for visiting during the break – hope you enjoyed our activities!
Now onto the Oriel Hanes (History Gallery)
I remembered to take a ‘before’ picture, as you can see it is quite old and many of the lamps and tubes aren’t working:

Day 1 – First day for the History Gallery’s lighting project. Scaffolding moved from the Lecture Theatre to the History Gallery. Cases moved by our technician to make way for the scaffolding.
Day 2 – Removal of collections that are at risk and protective covers on cases. Scaffolding assembled.
Day 3 – More scaffolding assembled, more moving of collections, more trips up and down the stairs.
