Swansea at War

Introduction

WW2 is arguably the most significant world event in human history of the 20th century. It left an indelible mark on those who lived through it and left the centre of Swansea destroyed.  The Swansea at war package will explore: 

  • The historic context and causes of WW2 
  • Ethics around war 
  • Propaganda and the Home Front
  • Historic evidence from primary and secondary sources 
  • The impact on Swansea 
  • Citizenship and the civilian response 
  • Historic objects and images from WW2 

Progression level 2 and 3

Target age range Yr 4 – 6

Length of Session 4 Hours

The session will be part PowerPoint presentation and activities.

Session Time 4 hours 10am – 2pm including lunch break
